Hi
I’m a blogger of some 20+ years experience. I’ve blogged my personal story, blogged about other blogs, blogged about sports and blogged about my partner’s dog. I’ve had blogs that have zero visitors and blogs that have 20,000 pages views per day.
This was before every blog seemingly started with ‘You won’t believe…’ or ‘The 20 lifehacks you NEED…’ I used to blog when the web didn’t seem to scream and didn’t seem to position itself as some relentless door knocker that wants to find out everything about individuals purely to sell more stuff.
Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places but it seems to me that these days, it’s all about the scrolling and the likes rather than the genuine connection that the world can offer. I remember having relationships with the people I used to ‘link’ with whereas today I get RSI on my right thumb for scrolling so far, so often and with, if I’m being honest, so little reward.
And so I decided to try and reblog – blog again! But what to blog about? None of the subjects above really appeal to me any longer so I guess I’ll create this thing and just keep typing. Eventually I’ll work out whether it’s useful or not.
Aside from my blogging history, I am… *Gulp* probably in the early throws of middle-age and live a small regional town in a big country. I live with family which include an absolutely bat-shit crazy giant dog and an unhealthy number of cats which are corralled by a tiny human-cross-energizer bunny shaped thing.
I’m generally an optimist and I enjoy gaming, photography and finding new and creative ways of telling myself that I’m not putting weight on. I’m also a big fan of yellow sticky notes. And Billy Joel.
